In Botanic Engines, I use the imagery of machinery and plants to express the duality I

experience in life’s journey. The mechanical elements in the painting represent the

hard core of existence—the structure, discipline, and resilience that life demands. In

contrast, the leaves symbolize softness, fragility, and the essential emotional and

spiritual aspects of being human.

This painting is not just a depiction of contrast, but of coexistence. It is my way of

honoring both the hardness that keeps us going and the softness that keeps us human.
